About Cartful

Cartful helps enterprise ecommerce brands guide shoppers to the right products with product finder quizzes and recommendations built for merchandising control, brand-native design, and downstream data activation.

Why we exist

Cartful was founded in 2015 by Tim Petrella in New York City. The idea was straightforward: when catalogs get complex, shoppers need guidance, and brands need control over how products are recommended. Most tools treat product finders as a simple widget. We saw that enterprise teams need something more rigorous.

Why guided selling is harder than it looks

Product finders look simple on the surface. But enterprise teams know they touch multiple parts of the business at once.

It's a marketing experience

For many shoppers, a quiz is the first meaningful interaction with your brand. The copy, questions, and education need to feel intentional.

The merchandising is real

Wrong product, wrong outcome. Returns go up, lifetime value goes down. Getting the match right matters most on first purchase.

The data needs to work downstream

Shopper intent should flow into your CRM, CDP, and lifecycle tools so your team can personalize follow-up and measure what's working.

What we build

Cartful is a platform, not a widget. AI helps teams move faster while keeping full control over quiz content and recommendation behavior.

Studio Visual Editor

A drag-and-drop builder that lets non-developers create complex branching logic and brand-native visuals. Teams iterate quickly without engineering tickets.

Controlled recommendations

Multiple scoring approaches with strict merchandising guardrails: eligibility rules, exclusions, boosting, and out-of-stock fallbacks. Your team stays in control.

Stack-ready integrations

Events and attributes flow into Klaviyo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, and more. Shopper intent becomes usable across your marketing stack.
