Frequently asked questions

What is a product finder quiz?

A product finder quiz is a guided shopping experience that asks a few structured questions and recommends the best products based on the shopper’s answers. It helps shoppers make a confident choice when the catalog is complex.

How is Cartful different from a form tool like Typeform?

Form tools capture responses. Cartful is purpose-built to map answers to controlled product recommendations, apply strict merchandising guardrails, match your site’s look and feel, and send the resulting intent into your marketing and analytics stack (when configured).

Where can Cartful be embedded?

Cartful can be implemented on PDPs, collection pages, landing pages, or on a dedicated quiz page. Micro quizzes can also be placed in a banner on collection pages.

Do you support complex conditional branching?

Yes. Cartful supports robust conditional branching, including complex logic, so shoppers can see different paths based on their answers.

How do recommendations stay under merchandising control?

Cartful supports multiple recommendation approaches (custom scoring, rules-based scoring from product data, and decision trees) and gives teams strict control over eligibility, exclusions, boosting, guardrails, and out-of-stock fallbacks. AI can suggest rules, but your team reviews and approves final behavior.

Do you store personal data?

By default, Cartful stores aggregated analytics, not personally identifiable data (PII). Emails and names can be captured and sent via encrypted API directly to downstream tools when configured. Cartful does not store IP addresses or device identifiers, and free text answers are not stored anywhere.

“Are you SOC 2 certified?”

“Yes. Cartful is SOC 2 Type II certified.”

“Who is Cartful for (and not for)?”

“Cartful is a strong fit for brands with complex catalogs that care about precise recommendations, strict merchandising control, design flexibility, and real partner support. It works on Shopify/Shopify Plus, SFCC, and other enterprise stacks. It’s not the right fit if you just need a lightweight quiz for a small store, a generic survey tool, or you don’t need merchandising control or ongoing iteration.”
